While the fall season can be Attracting Buyers in the Fall Real Estate Marketfilled with fun and football games, though, if you are in the process of selling your home, it has often meant that you “missed out” on the prime time of the year to find buyers. But the good news is that, even though summer is now behind us, the fall season can still net you a myriad of potential purchasers.

Falling Leaves Doesn’t Have to Mean Dropping Your Price

There are a number of ways to attract buyers, even if the air is getting cooler – and your strategy doesn’t have to include dropping your asking price. For example, some methods of actually embracing the autumn season can include:

  • Accenting Fall Colors – After you have de-personalized your home for showings (i.e., removed family pictures and other items that can make it look less “cluttered”), you can accent various fall colors by placing red and orange throw pillows on the couch, and / or by placing a neatly folded quilt on the back of a chair.
  • Let In the Light – In the fall, there can be some gray and gloomy days, and it also starts to get dark much earlier in the evening. Because of this, it will be more important to ensure that you have as much light as possible coming in. With that in mind, be sure that you keep all shades, curtains, and blinds open during showings. And, by turning on lights in every room, you can really brighten up dark rooms – which, in turn, can make the overall space appear to be larger. This, too, is a plus for a potential purchaser.
  • Provide a Treat for the Senses – Prior to showings, you can light fall scented candles in order to provide the aroma of autumn in the air. Depending on how much time you have – as well as your culinary skills – you may even consider baking some tasty pumpkin cupcakes or other treats for visitors.
